Since Alice in wonderland is a cartoon. And cartoons always have this
hilarious comedic feel to it I decided to give in and try a cartoon-ish
style. Sometimes being lost is kinda funny and hilarious......if you're
the bystander looking at the poor lost soul.
I've been experimenting with effects in Photoshop. And so far I think this is the best!
Original picture after being pen tooled out
Effect: Filter>Artistic>Poster Edges
Adjustments: Brightness and Contrast (I found that Brightness:10 and Contrast: 30 worked best for me)
Effect: Filter>Artistic>Cutout

Sketches!
Confusion at its finest! Upside down and tipsy looking
A ripped effect
Last but not least the composition of the 'drippy' effect. I like this one the best. Time to expand on it.
More Inspiration - Alice in Wonderland + Savador Dali
I've been thinking, every time I go/drive to a new city I always seem to
get lost. Sometimes it even makes me dizzy, with all the new roads,
signs and buildings. This must how Alice must have felt when she entered
wonderland!
So then I did some research on it:

Then I came across the melting clocks idea from the fandom

and immediately thought of Salvador Dali's “The Persistence of Memory,” painting
When you're dizzy and or confused the world seems to fade away as you're lost in your confusion. I got the idea for a "drippy melting effect" for my cityscape!

Potential Photo's
After going around the my city, here are the photo's which I think have the most potential to be used:
Stairs opposite Subang Parade (love the perspective)
Subang Jaya's famous flyover over a flyover over a flyover
Empire building!

Arrows and signs
Highways!

Assignment 1: Cityscape Photomontage- Brief + Inspiration
In this assignment we are supposed to go to a city of our choice and
take some pictures, then edit them in a creative way. My choice was to
pick my own residential area - Subang Jaya.
But of course research was needed! I checked out some artwork from other artists to gain inspiration.

This one had an 'inception'-like feel to it, made me feel claustrophobic.
Source
This one's conceptual and cool looking. Trying to give the message that nature dies in order to give birth to our 'cities'
Source
This isn't actually a photomontage, but the mist drenched over NYC gives it a mysterious aura.
